He has done things ten thousand times worse – the existing assessment of casualties resulting from his reductions to international aid amounts to 600,000 and rising, and presently research predicted his energy policies would cause deaths another 1.3 million. But nothing as definitional. No other president would have attempted – really, no previous leader would have conceived – solo demolishing significant portions of the presidential residence to construct a Versailles-style party room, with the direct cooperation of numerous the richest Americans, almost all of whom conduct transactions with the government.

We have observed across decades as politically conservative religious groups turned the Jesus we were raised with into the complete reverse of our understanding of him. At its most basic, they turned a figure of love into a symbol of hostility who approves specifically the brutality that he criticized in scripture; this change developed more slowly, over decades rather than months, but it is nonetheless disturbing in the same ways, a bewildering emotional blow for countless people.
A Damaging Christianity Gains Ground
Hence I shall explain the Savior that I grew up with, because theoretically Jesus is the center of any Christian faith, and since the quickly increasing segment of Americans might have little sense about him as they consider themselves skeptics or uncertain individuals or spiritual independents. A Battle for the Highest Within Us
So I have been encouraged to see the steadfast resistance against Trump arise during the previous year. We will need to persist with it, and through comparable resolve, with American flags during all protests and appeals to the best parts of American history.

The country is optimally secured, in other words, by reference to the best about American history, just as Christianity is optimally secured by relationship to that which renders it unique and beautiful, particularly the pattern of Jesus. In all circumstances does it mean acting as if the most negative regarding America and religious tradition never occurred; it signifies both modesty and conviction, a blend that committed national faithful ought to accept.
